STYLE GURU BIO: Marrina Weimer

Hello, Fashionistas/os! I am so ready to begin the summer internship with CollegeFashionista. This is my second semester being a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista. It is so much fun and such a stress reliever for me. I am ready to get out there again to take some pictures of cool and new fashion trends I spot as I roam around New York City.

Being that this is the summer internship, most of us are not in school. I have an internship over the summer with Joonbug in New York City. It has always been my dream to live in NYC and I am fulfilling that dream this summer. I am beyond excited to be able to roam around the streets of the city with my camera and just take pictures of the Fashionistas/os with the trendiest or most unique looks!

I go to a small liberal arts college in Meadville, Pennsylvania: Allegheny College. The school is an amazing school with a beautiful campus and students who have sweet style. I am majoring in Communication Arts and minoring in Psychology.

I have advanced my photography skills and writing skills from being a Style Guru with CollegeFashionista. As I have mentioned I cannot wait to advance those skills even more while in NYC. I have already begun to envision the different backgrounds and areas within the city where I will be able to take these pictures. Also, I can’t wait to see all of the new and upcoming fashion trends swimming through the hustle and bustle of the city.

Some of my favorite trends right now and have been for a while are bohemian/festival looks with a “Marrina” twist. I rarely see an outfit in a magazine or on someone and imitate it exactly. I like to add my own sense of style into the outfit. I am one for having fun with fashion. There is not one set way to dress which is correct or incorrect. You need to figure out what you love and incorporate that trend into each outfit to make that outfit unique.

For the summer, I am loving crop tops and kimonos. I also love lace, loose, earthy and vibrant tones. I do not have a set style; I lean more towards the boho look but I do not always go for the full bohemian look; although I love it. I typically take some sort of a plain outfit and add fun, feather jewelry or a kimono or some tribal shoes.

I am sure that you can tell by now how excited I am to begin the summer as being a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista again. Check out my posts every Wednesday to see what trends I am finding in New York City. I then challenge you to take some of these ideas and create your own unique outfits! Have a RAD summer and be sure to check out my articles each week.
