Hello, Fashionistas/os! My name is Hannah Miller and starting this coming fall, I will be a senior at Indiana University. I am studying Journalism and Apparel Merchandising and hope to pursue a career in the Fashion Editorial industry. I am so excited to be writing for CollegeFashionista for a second time!
I am from the Chicago area, so as my fellow Midwesterners know, I am beyond ready for some Summer weather. I grew up in a town called Buffalo Grove, with main attractions including Starbucks and Nails 2001. Still, it’s home and a great suburban area to grow up in (just in case mom is reading)!
This past spring, I had the amazing opportunity to study abroad in London. This was my first time traveling to Europe, so yes, there was culture shock for the Buffalo Grove native. Living in London was such a great experience and I got the chance to meet so many cool people. (I had to postpone tea with Kate since she was preparing for baby Charlotte—it’s okay Kate, you deserve royal forgiveness). While in Europe, I got to do some traveling and was able to visit many cities such as Florence, Barcelona, Dublin, Amsterdam, Paris and Prague. If you can imagine, it was basically four months in my own personal fantasy.
Here are some fun facts about me: I go to yoga almost every day (namaste). I’m a struggling shopaholic—it’s a serious disease. This summer, I will be doing a fashion PR internship in New York. I have a serious obsession with dark chocolate. My dog Sammy is my pride and joy. He is an Irish Jack Russell Terrier! I enjoy long walks on the beach (psh, more like long tans with extra tanning oil). My style icons inlcude: Blake Lively, Kendall Jenner, Olivia Palermo and Chloe Grace Moretz. I love the smell of lavender. My favorite beauty product is Estée Lauder facial moisturizer.
Now let’s get into the more important stuff—clothes. This is one of my favorite go-to outfits. Although it’s been here for a while now, I’m still loving the knee rip denim trend. You can find this exact pair at Topshop. This outfit also incorporates the denim on denim trend, but in a more subtle way. The top is from Madewell and is one of my favorite summer purchases so far. It’s super comfortable, yet still makes you look polished. I finished my look off with a hat and black booties, both from H&M. I’m also wearing some of my go-to jewelry pieces, including my favorite Pandora birthstone ring (shout out to all my Libra’s!).
