Hi everyone! My name is Monica Guan and I’m so excited to be part of the CollageFashionista team this summer! I always had an interest in fashion, art and modern design, which shaped my decision to study marketing after going into business. I’m currently going into my last year at the University of Toronto studying Management with a specialization in Marketing.
A lot of my fashion inspiration is drawn from the Internet as I am addicted to Instagram, fashion blogs, YouTube and Pinterest. I like to follow various brands and people of all styles and draw on ideas that I could incorporate into my daily wardrobe. I am also inspired by Asian culture and entertainment. I came from China to Toronto at a very young age, but still had a lot of interest in Asia and found that there are many unique trends to be discovered!
My personal style is rather minimalistic; I like mixing bold prints with neutral colors, or wearing basic pieces with unique designs and I am constantly on the hunt to find different pieces to add to my wardrobe. I currently run my own blog where I share my everyday outfits, DIYs and beauty tips. My go-to outfit when I don’t know what to wear would be a basic white T-shirt, a bralette, distressed jeans and a leather jacket.
Since this is my last summer as a college student I’m looking forward to finding unique styles on my campus and sharing it with all of you!
