Browsing through pictures of designer fashion shows is something that I consider a hobby of mine. I have such an appreciation for designers who have a distinct style and I love when when you can look at an article of clothing or an accessory and know exactly who designed it. kate spade new york is one of those designers for me and I feel that I embody her look in how I style many of my outfits. Her fun, bold and flirty pieces are a great representation of my outgoing and bubbly personality. kate spade new york’s spring 2015 ready-to-wear fashion show presented the classic kate spade style along with fashion trends that have been very popular this season like color-blocking, scalloped hems, and bold floral prints.
Floral prints were a huge part of kate spade’s collection this season and the print was incorporated into almost every outfit, whether it be on the clothing itself, a hat or on a handbag. I translated kate spade’s look into this outfit by picking out pieces that stood out the most to me from the line and mixing them in the most stylish and effective way possible. The first item that I was dying to include in my own personal look was my J.Crew floral pencil skirt. The fun and funky colors made it easy to pick out specific colors from the actual print to tie into my entire look.
Chambray shirts are always my favorite thing to pair with bottoms that are bold and in my opinion, this style of shirt is one of my favorite staple pieces that I own. I buttoned my J.Crew chambray shirt all the way up, which was a huge trend in this collection. I also tied the shirt at the waist instead of tucking it in to add a more casual spin onto the outfit. Nude heels and gold accents, which were shown through my round Old Navy sunglasses and my Lilly Pulitzer cross-body bag, tied all of the wild colors together. This look is perfect for an outside lunch date, a shopping day in the city or a job interview!
