Hi there! My name is Micah Ohno! I’m a rising junior at Philadelphia University majoring in Fashion Design.
I like to consider myself a mountain girl living in a big city as I was born and raised in Colorado and my move to Philadelphia has been out of this world. Living here has opened my eyes and given me a glimpse into the Fashion industry, which I have always strived to be a part of.
Fashion has always been a major part of my life and I’ve been making my own clothing since I was little. The first wearable dress I ever made was when I was four and it was made entirely out of tissue paper, tape and staples. I’ve always felt that the way I dressed has been one of the most important ways I can express myself and show people who I am.
This internship is very exciting to me as it is an amazing way to continue to express myself and give people a glimpse into my life and me. It is also a great way to represent my school, which I credit to helping me find myself as I embark on this journey to the fashion industry. Philadelphia University is an amazing school filled with amazing people, each having their own unique personal styles and points of views.
I am currently working on launching my own blog, which has been a personal dream of mine for years. I am excited to say that this blog should up and running by the end of the summer just in time for me to document my next adventure as I study abroad in Europe.
I classify my personal style as eclectic. My style changes daily. I tend to dress more on the edgy side, but occasionally I like to style myself in cute and flirty outfits. I tend to wear mostly black and white with a pop of color. I have multiple style muses including Brigitte Bardot and Edie Sedgwick. Two of the Fashion designers I look up to most are Alexander McQueen and Georgina Chapman.
My favorite items in my closet are my LBD from Forever21, my faux leather jacket from ASOS, my vintage pearl Peter Pan collar necklace, the pair of studded heels and the black floppy hat from American Apparel, which I am seen wearing in my pictures.
Something fun to know about me is that traveling is my favorite thing to do as I find different cultures fascinating. I have been to a number of countries including Australia and Israel. The most interesting thing about me is that I have worked at New York Fashion Week.
I hope that this gives you a good look into my life and who I am. As a new Style Guru, I will be posting more of my outfits as well as the outfits of my classmates here at Philadelphia University. I can’t wait to continue this adventure with CollegeFashionista!
