Who said dressing up has to be hard? Instead of spending countless hours trying to match various tops and bottoms, try one simple piece, like a flowy, comfortable dress. Just throw it on and you’re ready. Aside from the simplicity and comfortableness the next best part of casual sun-dreses is that they look anything but casual. Casual dresses are the easiest way to look extremely composed and put together, with a minimal amount of effort required.
I am a strong believe in the idea that it’s better to be overdressed than underdressed. Although the thought of overdressing may seem like its extremely stressful and requires a huge amount of effort, there is definitely a few tips you could use to achieve the “overdressed look” without the stress and effort. My first and most important tip is dresses are the easiest way to appear like you have it together, even if you don’t. Although you may think throwing on a pair of jeans and a T-shirt is the easiest, most comfortable outfit to turn to, throwing on a sun dress and sandals can actually require a lot less effort, and give you a much better appearance. Another pro of choosing casual dresses over two piece outfits is that if you choose a dress with a fun pattern, there is no need to accessorize with lots of different jewels and such, because the bold pattern is already the focal point of the look. Long gone are the days of trying too hard to “appear” put-together.
This Fashionista did a great job of utilizing the idea of the busy patterned dress and accessorized lightly. She centered her outfit around her purple and pink ombre slip dress, with lace detailing, and accessorized with two simple gold necklaces. Playing off of the white detailing in her dress, she paired it with white Jack Roger sandals and a destroyed jean jacket as the perfect added accessory for the lower morning temperatures. She completely nailed the put together look and it required only a minimal amount of effort, saving her a great amount of both time and effort when getting ready in the morning.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “My main goal when getting ready in the morning is achieving the most put-together look with the least amount of time/effort required. I think always opting for a one piece dress as opposed to the two piece pant and top combo is the perfect answer.”
