Florals have always been a reliable staple for spring and summer wardrobes. This summer is no exception as demonstrated by the exquisite Zuhair Murad 2015 spring collection. Vivid floral patterns with stark black backgrounds on floor-length gowns are one of this season’s popular twists for garments of such botanical affections. Not only do the dark backgrounds make the blossomy patterns pop, they also bring an edgy and unique vibe to the entire outfit—not to mention that black is always in, coordinates with everything and happens to be my favorite color to wear.
In today’s photo feature, I am wearing a colorfully patterned maxi dress that has two slits in the skirt, a V-shaped neckline and a low, strappy back. I accessorize this look with a simple, long gemstone necklace, black and gold sandals, gold rings and midi rings. The back of the dress has two straps and comes to a bow, emphasizing my tan lines (oops!) and my back.
In this maxi, I am comfortable and consciously dressing for my body type. I am tall and flat chested, which makes the low V-neckline, strappy back and floor-length dress very flattering on me. The pattern is as dramatic in person as it is in the picture and looks great with the breezy material of the dress. Maxi dresses are perfect for almost any occasion, and when they are paired with great patterns they become a fashion statement.
