Hello my fellow Fashionista/os. My name is Rinette Bondoc. I’m 21 years old and born and raised in San Jose, California. I am a Fashion Marketing and Management Major at The Art Institute of California – Silicon Valley. As you can tell, Fashion is such a passion of mine that I chose to pursue my degree in it. In my major, I have had the pleasure of learning about Product Development, Trend Forecasting, the Early and Modern History of Fashion, Retail Buying and Fashion Styling just to name a few.
I’m a strong believer of going after what you love and what you’re passionate about, because for me being happy is the most fulfilling reward. So turning something you love into a career or finding a career within the industry is the ultimate motivation. My motto in life is simply to “Live the life you love in style” combining fashion in what I love doing. I look at is as a saying that incorporates the importance of being happy and enjoying what you do with the element of expressing yourself daily through your outfits and accessories that bring out the best in you.
I would describe my style in different ways, I can be very simple, laid back and minimalist or very trendy and feminine. It can even be a true combination of all of them. It truly varies on the day, the event/occasion or simply how I’m feeling that day and what image I want to project. In this photo, I am wearing a blush pink woven coat, a white boxy shirt, along with my favorite black skinny jeans with rips in the knees. All paired with my bronze metallic Vans and Zara mini city bag. This outfit represents my favorite go-to look, which includes pairing very dressy and classic pieces with casual and edgy items.
This is another reason why I love Fashion because of the endless possibilities and lack of rules that go with it. Like any good Style Guru or Fashionista, I absolutely love shopping and gaining inspiration from magazines, fashion blogs and social media platforms like instagram, tumblr and pinterest. My favorite fashion bloggers include Aimee Song, Julie of Sincerely, Jules, and Arielle Charnas of Something Navy, simply because of their effortless, wearable, simple yet classic styles.
Fashion is one of the reasons I’m excited when I wake up in the morning. It’s one of my inspirations and main motivators because of the freedom and ability it gives you to express your personality and mood just through what you wear. With all that said, I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to share my personal style as well as the looks of my fellow fashion students on my campus and hopefully inspire everyone to also “Live the life you love in style.”
