Hi you all! My name is Ashleigh and I am a senior at Virginia Commonwealth University. I will be graduating this December…YAY! I found out about CollegeFashionista through my school and I thought it would be a great experience to be apart of. I am excited to be your Style Guru for the summer where I am going to give you guys the latest trends on fashion and beauty through my posts.
Fashion and beauty has always been a passion of mine and once I started college I started to explore with different looks. I wanted to step my style game up since I was entering a new chapter in my life. I don’t have a particular style as I like to switch it up and play with my looks. It can get boring wearing the same type of clothes all the time and I encourage you all to step outside your comfort zone and see what happens.
I love being inspired by other people when it comes to fashion and I am always looking at someone’s outfit whether it is online or in person. At the moment I have three style icons (Rihanna, Victoria Beckham and Zendaya). I love how Rihanna plays with different fashion looks, she is definitely a risk taker when it comes to fashion. Next, Victoria Beckham, aka Posh Spice, always looks chic, but classy, you will never catch Beckham looking terrible as her outfits always look well put together. Last, Zendaya is 17 years old and she is a little Fashionista and plays with different fashion looks that she pulls them off effortlessly.
Also I have grown to love makeup more over the past few years and how it can change how someone looks. I love learning tips and tricks from other beauty gurus on YouTube because no matter how many videos I watch, I always learn something new.
As of right now, my current must-haves include me wearing a bold statement lipstick, cute sandals, and lots of jewerly. I think these accessories are important. A bold lip always stands out. That is one of the first things people see. Sandals are definitely a summer staple. Everyone should own a pair of sandals. Last, wearing different types of jewerly such as rings and earrings adds an edginess to an outfit.
I think fashion and beauty can build up anyone’s confidence. I always say when you look good, you feel good. Overall, I can’t wait to share my tips and tricks with you all throughout the summer and I hope I can inspire you to try something new. I am excited to let you guys in on my journey of discovering the best-dressed Fashionistas/os around the VCU campus.
