WHAT TO WEAR: Brunch

I typically wake each Sunday morning half excited for a day of of rest and brunch, but also half dreading piecing together an outfit that is both dressy and comfortable. While I was living in New York City, I fell in love with Sunday brunch (which, by the way, lasts until four pm in my book). Sidewalk cafés fill with friends enjoying mimosas, Eggs Benedict and laughs over the previous night’s antics. Saturday night typically leaves me exhausted and tempted to skip dressing cute on Sunday morning. This particular Sunday also brought us some much needed rain…all day long. How does one battle exhaustion and adverse weather and still pull through with a killer outfit?

This Fashionista has the perfect rainy Sunday brunch ensemble. Her printed jumpsuit is the perfect piece that can take you from church to brunch to lounging at home. I have a special love for jumpsuits, especially this steal from Lilly Puliter’s collection at Target. A long navy sweater helps tone down the jumpsuit’s busy nautical print. She ties together her look with white sandals and adds a fun pop of color with a mandarin red Michael Kors cross-body handbag. The contrast between the breezy jumpsuit and structured bag elevates this preppy-nautical look to a new level. Top it off with some gold jewelry and pearl earrings and you’re all set.

Stay comfy-cute like this Fashionista by combining different textures and prints within the same color scheme. Brunching should be a fun experience, with good food and great company. So make sure above all you feel good in what you’re wearing. As the saying goes, “A Sunday well spent brings a week of content.”

One Simple Change: Her accessories are excellent for a more dressed up occasion. Swap the sandals and sweater for some white Keds and a denim jacket for a more sporty-casual look.
