It is finally June, the month we have all been waiting for, the month where the sun is supposed to shine. Yet, it has been all but warm. As the temperatures drop and the rain falls, it is hard to choose an outfit each morning that emphasizes your unique look, but we have just the way help with that daily struggle. Fashionistas, you must focus on the details.
In this look, this Fashionista started with a basic white cropped tank top and high-waisted jeans, two fashion staples. She added a multi-colored flannel to keep warm during the chilly day, but it can also be removed if the sun decides to shine. She played with patterns, contrasting her flannel with her light tie-dye high-top sneakers.
The little details are what really caused me to take interest in her outfit. She layered four necklaces, each of different lengths and styles. The longest of the necklaces is a statement piece; the orange and blues within the necklace make it stand out against her bright white tank. The second necklace is made of stone. Its turquoise color radiates against its gold chain and accentuates the colors within the statement necklace. My favorite of the four necklaces are her two chokers. Chokers have become this summer’s “it” style. Everyone is wearing them. This Fashionista is wearing a choker with a tiny donut on it, which she made herself. Chokers are great because they are easy to make and you can get creative with them.
How To: If you want to create a look like this Fashionista did, choose a simple outfit, using basic colors for your base look. Then add staple accessories to make your look pop. Remember, fashion is about wearing things that make you comfortable, but it is also a way to express yourself. Be sure to be unique and true to who you are as a Fashionista!
