Summer, as a time of freedom and new experiences, provides us with the opportunity to push our fashion comfort zones. Between road trips, festivals, ice-cream dates, concerts or simple strolls in the park, the warmer temperatures and sunshine mean a chance to be daring. Bare a little more skin! Show off that ink if you’ve got it!  Find creative accessories other than cozy jackets and hats! The heat makes us all a little mad, so why not try something different?
This Fashionista creates her own unique aesthetic by finding or making most of her wardrobe components from local thrift shops and rummage sales. She even sells some of her lovely creations and findings on her vintage-inspired Etsy shop, Vesuvian Vetanda. For this midday stroll through the city, today’s Fashionista contrasts punky with girly by pairing her tattoo-baring patterned tights with a sateen floral leotard. The contrast is further emphasized and balanced by the texture of the black-and-silver feather boa with the whimsicality of her skirt. Grounded by vintage black leather boots and her grandmother’s circular sunglasses, this outfit combines the best of both worlds, making it versatile enough to go all the way from brunch to after-dinner drinks.
One Simple Change: To add a few more elements of sophistication, swap the boots for a pair of black flats and add a black leather clutch. If another layer is desired, this look can also be topped with a denim or leather jacket.
