Hello Fashionistas and Fashionistos! Another weekend has come and gone, and for some of us, it is time to put our noses to the grindstone. Here at DePaul, we run on the quarter system and it is just now time for final exams. While finals mean hours of studying, countless Starbucks runs and crazy stress, it is important to dress for the occasion.
Dressing for finals may make you want to pull out your comfiest pair of sweatpants and an old band T-shirt, however, there is a way to make it fashionable and comfortable. Take a page out of this Fashionista’s book and create a smart look while keeping it cool, casual and comfortable. Start with a chambray button-up—a classic wardrobe staple. Denim and chambray button-ups are one of the easiest pieces to style and also one of the most comfortable pieces to wear. This Fashionista went for a subtly acid-washed denim to add a bit of unique edge.
To keep the outfit looking smart and suitable for warm weather, this Fashionista opted for a pair of classic black chino shorts. The cuffed hem pulls the outfit together in a classy and simple way. For accessories, this Fashionista kept it modest and minimal with a cuff bracelet and a pair of Birkenstock style sandals. Since it is finals after all, keeping accessories to a minimum keeps the entire look casual and lets the pieces speak for themselves.
The cherry on top, or should I say, the bun on top, is a nice trendy addition. If you don’t want to worry about you hair falling in your eyes while you’re trying to write a paper or fill out a Scantron, a half bun is a perfect go-to style.
One Simple Change: If you’re sick of studying and ready to hit the nightlife, do so without hassle. Simply swap out your shorts with a black pencil skirt and tuck in your shirt. This is an easy way to make your outfit go from day to night while still looking fashion-forward and put together.
