Strolling along the streets of Florence, what catch my eyes far more than just stunning architecture and colorful gelato stands? Italian ragazzi and ragazze and their characteristic fashion styles, which are providing this golden city with a non-stop eye feast. Even with the glowing hot sun high above in the June sky, true Italian Fashionistas never settle for less in their deep-rooted passion for MODA.
Pilar, a local Florentine girl, studies architecture in this historic city. A recent project in London sparked her interest in further perfecting her English through a language exchange program with me. I was stunned by her cheerfulness, passion and unique style in our first meeting. Let’s be honest, nobody could really resist her charm. I grabbed my camera and captured her look on a regular, summer day.
Her stripe dress shirt is the most eye-catching piece of her whole outfit. Its simple pattern matches pretty well with her norm-core style. Clothes with a stripe pattern are always a favorite for summer. You may not be able to see them, but Pilar is also wearing very chic, leather quilted shorts, which further define her fashionable style. For her footwear, she’s wearing a pair of leather boots that balance her whole outfit. Pilar is also wearing a very unique necklace with a personalized letter “P” for her beautiful, Spanish name. At last, she chose a soft color for her shoulder bag. I found a similar shoulder bag from Zara, which has a lovely name for the color- Ecru. Her bag is a neat addition to her black and white outfit- chic and cool. Pilar’s outfit showed me the cool side of this humid summer in Florence. It’s so nice to meet this lovely girl and learn about her style.
