When hit with a heat wave, all anyone wants to do is wear as little clothing as possible. Clean cuts, light colors and thin fabrics such as linen and cotton become our best friends. It is simply too fussy to have complicated garments on. We are practically being forced to keep the clothing simple, but that doesn’t mean that our ensemble has to be completely boring. Balancing out the outfit with some funky accessories can take your look to the next level.
On campus, I spotted a Fashionista who seemed effortlessly cool—pun intended. Her tunic and boyfriend jeans were simple enough to place the focus on her awesome jewelry and turban. Her black tunic tied in with the turban’s black and white colors. Oddly enough, turbans are a traditional headwear worn by men throughout different cultures. In today’s fashion world, the headwear has crossed over into mainstream fashion.
Rocking a turban is a smart and stylish ways to keep your long tresses off of your neck during these sizzling hot summers. They are also the quintessential summer hair accessories for when you are having those bad hair days! Our Fashionista also wore some funky, bohemian rings and a silver cuff. Her choice of jewelry was a wonderful complement with her turban. Any one of any hair texture or length can sport turbans!
How To: Keep your outfit basic and choose a fairly long, printed scarf. Bun or pin your hair up and out of your face. Wrap the turban around your hair several times before tying it in a knot. You can play with the orientation of your scarf on your hair as you see fit. Voila! You are fabulous in five minutes.
