Patterns are huge this summer. Some patterns are so unique that they turn you into a walking art piece. If you mix this with an updated ‘70s vibe, you’ll have a bold look that is sure to stand out.
Taking inspiration from the alice + olivia spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection, which included unusual patterns, bold colors and ‘70s-inspired pieces, I put my own twist on my outfit to suit my style a little better. I chose to wear a swing dress with a courageous cheetah print design. I paired it with a bright fuchsia heel for the pop of color, and for my own personal touch, I included tortoise shell retro sunglasses. To me, these scream a period of time near the ‘70s. To top off the outfit and give it a little more detail, I added simple, delicate jewelry. That is my favorite way to accessorize.
Being brave with your fashion is something everyone should try. Sometimes stepping outside of your comfort zone is fun. With this being said, always stay true to yourself. If you see a style you want to try but are a little afraid, alter it to suit your style. That’s exactly what I did with my outfit. I didn’t want to go full ‘70s, so I found a dress that resembled the time period (within what I like to wear) and went from there. There are no rules to fashion, so take inspiration and make it your own.
