I know that stripes aren’t some new revolutionary trend or anything, but if you couldn’t tell by now I absolutely love them. Stripes are just so fun! They can be dressed up by pairing them with some statement jewelry and bold colors or kept minimal for a more classic look. It’s amazing how something so simple can instantly add so much to an outfit.
How chic does this Fashionista look?! She blended both of my previous stripe wearing suggestions and made something simply amazing. This day was a bit chilly (it’s been a slow moving summer over here) so this Fashionista dressed well for the brisk breezes but didn’t forget that the sun was still shining!
What first caught my eye was this Fashionista’s striped shirt (obviously, I just confessed my love for stripes). The bright orange and white combination is a perfect situation for a summertime ensemble. What really makes this top great is both its half sleeves due to the fact that it wasn’t the warmest of summer days, and the straight neckline because it brings attention to her collarbones without showing too much skin. Her mossy colored trousers were a perfect addition since they contrasted with the bright orange and gave her an overall casual look. This Fashionista did an amazing job keeping the accessorizing to a minimum and finished this look off with some nude pointed toe flats and a pair of round sunglasses.
How To: Over-accessorizing with stripes can come across as messy so be sure to pay attention to all the layers you throw on. Find an article of striped clothing to be the foundation and then work around that as you accessorize. As Coco Chanel said, “Before you leave the house, look in the mirror and take one thing off.”
