WHAT TO WEAR: Concert

It is officially music festival season, Fashionistas/os, a time of year when it’s totally acceptable to sport flower crowns and Daisy Dukes on the regular. When it comes to outdoor concerts, this Fashionista is flawless. The outfit she chose is a sleeveless, cotton mini dress that is sure to keep you cool in the heat. Lightweight clothing is essential for this occasion; button-ups will be your best friend. Keep in mind the type of fabric you choose on hot days; breezy materials such as linen, rayon, cotton, silk, chambray, jersey and chiffon are ideal.

For outdoor concerts, flats are a must. It’s safe to say that you will be doing plenty of walking and dancing. The last thing a girl wants to worry about is getting her heels stuck in the mud or having sore feet within the first 30 minutes. Comfort is key, but you in no way have to sacrifice style to be comfortable. Gladiator sandals are fashion and comfort built in one. Sneakers, slip-on slides, d’Orsay flats and booties are all perfectly acceptable alternatives. Another important essential? Wear a hat. Period. A hat will keep the sun out of your eyes while you spend hours upon hours soaking up powerful UV rays. Secondly, it adds style to even the most basic outfits. Remember, when picking a hat, anything goes; from brown, felt western-style hats to floppy fedoras and woven Panama hats. You really can’t go wrong, so have fun with it.

One Simple Change: The sun has gone down and your arms are bare? To take your look from day to night, add a denim jacket, chambray button-up or kimono for when it becomes chilly in the PM.
