I have a major love affair with two things—Disneyland and the color black. Both are deeply routed obsessions that won’t be leaving any time soon, and it is a good thing that they’re classics. However, mixing a childish cartoon and a dark color that is barely seen in the park turned into a look that perfectly describes my style.
Black is always a color that will be in every collection every season, but no one quite does it like Alexander Wang. With every collection, a Fashionista like me can dream to own his creations, but in the meantime, we can get creative with our own clothes. In this last season of Alexander Wang’s 2015 resort collection, he showed many outfits that flawlessly show off his effortless, all-black outfits along with neutrals and a soft pop of pink. His inspiration for his past seasons have been drawn from tennis shoes and sportswear, giving it an ease and comfort that can be easy to replicate.
Alexander Wang has always appealed to me as a designer because of his creativity, so it is no wonder that I try and imitate the looks he puts out on the runway. With a lot of inspiration from a specific look in the collection, I tried my best to pull of an all-black outfit. I copied his looks with my favorite leather jacket, a high neckline top and my black high-waisted shorts. To make it more my own but still staying with his inspiration, I added my white low-top Converse and an easy yet colorful backpack. Alexander Wang is the type of designer you wear to gain confidence, and with my replica outfit, I couldn’t feel more fierce.
