Everything about Rachel Zoe’s resort 2016 runway collection was amplified. She really kicked this line up a few notches. The collection continued her typical bohemian glam theme she is known for, but the quality, design and fabrics went to the next level. She was making a statement after ending her four-year license with Li & Fung, this being her first independent runway show. Zoe kept her focus on specialty items, stating that that is what the people look for and will remember. Her collection featured maxi dresses with bold prints and fringe galore. One of my personal favorite looks was the ombrè fur coat, paired with the two-piece oxblood maxi dress. That outfit embodied the theme of the collection to a T.
My look was inspired by a gorgeous rust-colored maxi dress that was featured in the show. I translated that look with this burnt orange midi dress that cinches at the waist. The loose fabric is exactly what we see in Rachel Zoe’s line. I opted for the midi dress, rather than the maxi because midi dresses are especially on trend right now. I believe midi dresses fit really well into the vintage style that we see in not only Zoe’s resort collection but all over other runway shows and in stores. To stick with the ‘70s vibe, I added circle sunglasses and tan braided sandals. A classic taupe handbag completed my translated look, bringing all the elements together.
Get My Look: 1. A nice and simple, breezy midi dress. 2. Retro circle sunglasses. 3. Comfortable braided sandals.
