The crop top: fierce yet so frightening. This trend has been developing over the last few years, and for the last few years I have done my best to avoid it, purely out of fear that I will commit a major fashion faux pas. Well, this summer I decided to bite the bullet and embrace the trending crop top.
One of the most important aspects of styling any outfit for me is comfort. If I don’t feel comfortable in what I am wearing, it will almost always translate negatively to my mood. So especially when wearing crop tops, all other outfit components are highly necessary. rag & bone’s spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection features exposed midriffs, neutral colors and tons of layering possibilities. This is exactly what I went for with my belly-baring ensemble.
Breaking my leg this spring and getting around on crutches for the last two and a half months caused my broken leg to look more like an arm; so recently, relaxed jogger pants have become my new best friend. Joggers are great with tighter crop tops because they provide a ton of comfort and don’t make you feel like a human sausage. These joggers are also more high-waisted, which allowed me to indulge in a Shake Shack burger mid-photoshoot. I tied the look together with a thin cardigan and leather backpack, and kept it sporty with some Vans SK8-Hi sneakers for a fun and causal street style vibe.
Get My Look: 1. A structured white crop top. 2. A neutral cardigan. 3. Fun sunglasses.
