Mini skirts are out and long skirts are in. Remember when we were not able to go to school with skirts that were not fingertip length? Yeah, well we all hated that rule—at least I did. Today many of us would not mind that rule. Long skirts are very trendy this summer in floral, patterned and solid colors. These skirts are great for a warm summer day that consists of shopping at high-fashion stores, lunch with the girls, a stroll along Fifth Avenue or in a high-traffic park and a day at the office. There are different types of long skirts such as A-line midi, maxi, mid calf and just above the knee. A-line skirts are definitely an ideal must-have skirt this season. The formation of the skirt being fitted around the waist and puffy throughout complements bodies very well. The style of the skirt is very versatile and can be worn with a sweater, crop, loose or fitted top and can be paired with boots, heels or sandals. A-line skirts can easily be transformed from a day to nightwear.
I spotted this Fashionista as she was strolling through Brooklyn Bridge Park. When I spotted her, I quickly stopped her because her outfit was well put together and very stylish. The first item of clothing I saw was her skirt. I’m in love with the see-through, mesh black and white floral A-line skirt she was wearing. The fabric, style and details on the skirt provided eccentricity and life to her outfit. From recent fashion show reviews and magazine articles, A-line skirts will be seen a lot more this summer.
She did an excellent job by pairing her skirt with a chic crochet top from Abercrombie & Fitch and flat strappy sandals. Oh yeah and we can’t forget about the sun hat she was sporting. I really like this Fashionista’s outfit and the accessories she incorporated to create her look.
How To: Go to your nearest trendy boutique and get an A-line skirt. Grab one of your crop tops and add a pair of sandals.
