Dressing for the weekend is always fun because the outfit possibilities are endless and you can wear whatever you want, wherever you want.
Although some say that stripes are hard to pull off, I respectfully disagree. I usually tend to stay away from patterned clothing, but I absolutely love stripes! They’re fun, but they aren’t too busy and can still allow us Fashionistas/os to rock a statement necklace or a hat without distracting the rest of the look.
This Fashionista does an excellent job dressing for comfort and style. T-shirt dresses are extremely fashionable for the season, and can be appropriately worn for a number of different occasions such as graduation parties, a quick trip to the mall or to grab coffee with some friends. As I have stated in my previous posts, I keep an eye out for pieces that can be worn throughout the year during different seasons while I shop, which is why I really love this current trend. Pairing the dress with a pair of tights, ankle boots and a leather jacket makes the look perfect for a chillier day.
Wearing a chambray shirt around your waist gives the overall look a casual feel, and can be thrown on over the dress in case you get chilly later in the evening when you’re out and about.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “I have always gone by the saying ‘There are no rules to fashion. If you like it, wear it.’ I’m not much of a color person. I always like to invest in good-quality black, white and gray T-shirts, jean shirts and basic dresses because I know that they will go with everything and won’t go out of style! When purchasing more extravagant things that are more of “trends,” I like to spend less money because in a years time, they most likely will go out of style! So if I had one tip, it would definitely be to splurge on the basics!”
