Though you might associate tassels with home décor fabrics or graduation caps, they are quickly becoming the must-have accent in the world of fashion. They can be worn on purses, jewelry and even clothing to add a little playfulness to your look. This trend is big right now and has been spotted on numerous students at UW-Madison.
This Fashionista is demonstrating her twist of the tassel trend on campus. As she sets out for a day on State Street, she throws on a pair of hot pink shorts, a simple white T-shirt and a statement piece. The patterned tassel scarf takes an otherwise plain outfit and makes it fun and stylish! She says the scarf was one of her favorite purchases while studying abroad in Italy last semester. The Fashionistas/os who are not travelling to Europe in the near future need not worry because the tassel fever is spreading to the States. The Fashionista even takes the trend to the next level by adding a few colorful tassel bracelets to her wrist and finishes off the ensemble with her favorite pair of gold Jack Rogers.
How To: Is your outfit lacking something that really makes it pop? You can never go wrong with the addition of some accessories with a few tassels. My favorite way to follow the trend is to throw on a tassel necklace with a T-shirt or to grab my favorite pair of tassel earrings. Jewelry is the easiest way to incorporate tassels into your look.
