There is no better shopping experience than one where you find something that fits absolutely perfectly. It hangs, flows and cinches in all the right places. It’s so comfortable, and so stylish. It looks like it’s worth at least twice as much as you actually paid for it. It’s so good, that you actually consider buying two of them. And that’s exactly how I feel about this shirtdress.
Not that a shirtdress is ever out of style, but if Blumarine’s resort 2016 show is any indication, they are definitely very on trend right now. This works out well for me because in the crazy New York summer heat (the heat index has reached over 100 a few times already!), it’s hard to find clothes that are light enough to keep you cool while also not being skimpy. This Gap dress is 100 percent cotton, so it’s very breathable. Even if I get a little sweaty, this dress allows me to cool down quickly.
This jacket that I got from Anthropologie is my absolute favorite. I love wearing a tweed jacket over a casual outfit, like jeans and a T-shirt, to dress it up while still looking effortless. This tweed jacket is really unique. Instead of only having black, white and gray threads, there are also some blue-gray threads woven in, adding some subtle color. The bright orange and pink flowers add such a bright pop of color to an otherwise neutral outfit. The cropped style is extra chic, and I think this jacket is so much fun.
I finished off the outfit with my favorite Sam Edelman heels. The turquoise embellishments add another pop of color. They are really comfortable to walk in (for heels), but they could be easily switched out for flats.
Get My Look: 1. White shirt dress. 2. Tweed jacket. 3. Embellished heels.
