Hey, everyone! The summer season is an exciting time when it comes to new trends. Maria Cornejo is known for having an incredible bathing suit business. However, the Zero + Maria Cornejo 2016 resort runway show focused on different styles such as cropped mid-thigh shorts. For instance, one of the looks in the Zero + Maria Cornejo line portrays a pair of striking black leather shorts paired with a solid maroon sleeveless shirt. The length of the shorts balances perfectly with the simple tucked in shirt. Finally, a simple gold cuff was used to complete this bold look.
Since I found this trend so inspiring, I decided to make it my own. Here, I took a pair of black mid-thigh shorts and paired it with a patterned tank top. In this case I chose to wear a black and white tank top instead of finding a maroon solid fabric. The sleeveless cut of my shirt, however, provides the same effect that is seen in the Zero + Maria Cornejo look. I then added a silver and gold cuff that is similar to the one that was seen on the resort 2016 runway. To complete my look, I decided to wear black Steve Madden shoes and a small black and white cross-body bag.
