Gloom and cloudiness has taken over New York City. Instead of getting warmer the weather gods have decided that this summer would be chilly with rain, rain and more rain. The sun better creep out sometime soon or I think I’m going to have to disappear to the Caribbean Island of Anguilla for the rest of the summer. The good news is that we can bring some cool spring trends into our wardrobes this summer and play with different pieces just like this Fashionista!
One of the first features I noticed about her outfit was her simple black cropped top. The criss-cross detail stood out to me. I’ve seen this piece while splurging in the world of online shopping but I’ve never actually seen someone wear it, so I thought it looked pretty RAD on this Fashionista. I loved that she wore body jewelry underneath her cropped top, which made this summer top stand out. It never hurts to show some skin!
Mix-and-matching seasonal trends, her brown suede fringe boots from her spring wardrobe make her outfit. I think fringe embellishments are so boho-chic and trendy and make any garment look like it’s from the ’70s. Her brown boots kill it with the denim jacket; I love the contrast of the two colors. Even though New Yorkers have to layer in July, I liked the fact that she rolled up the sleeves of her denim jacket to add an extra detail. Sometimes, I find that it’s hard to make your denim details stand out since it’s such a casual look. Rolling up your sleeves is one way to look even more fashionable.
This Fashionista wanted to incorporate more fringe into her outfit so she finished off her look with a black leather fringe bag from NASTY GAL. I think her entire look falls together beautifully. She looks comfortable and au courant.
How To: Are you a fan of cropped tops this summer? Make sure when you are shopping that you pick a style that has a unique detail. It could be backless, front crisscross detailing or haltered. Then pair your cropped top with a kimono or denim jacket and a cute fringe bag!
