Ever since I bought my first romper, I have thanked the fashion gods for their existence. I cannot even begin to tell you how many times I have been getting ready for class in the morning or to hit the town at night and tried on endless amounts of shirt and top combos that immediately ended up in the “no” and “OMG no” piles strewn across my floor. This is why I love a good romper. It is already a shirt and top combo minus the trouble of pairing an actual shirt and top. They are easy and stress free. In fact, they basically are stress preventers. Planning to wear a romper lets you save so much time while you are getting ready and basically is a guaranteed way that you will be on time to your event. For someone who is constantly running late, like myself, that is a very good thing. Besides being the perfect solution to any outfit nightmare, it is also the perfect opportunity to showcase your accessories. For some reason when wearing a romper I feel as though your accessories really pop and that is exactly how this Fashionista got my attention.
As if the black, floral, long-sleeve romper with the ruffled edges was not cute enough, I found myself eyeing her accessories and the way they complemented each other and the romper. The strappy brown wedges are a great pair to wear to work and immediately out to grab dinner with your girlfriends. Wearing the right pair of shoes with your romper is an important factor as you typically have lots of leg showing and this Fashionista’s pair elongates the leg without taking away from the printer romper. Her necklaces were simple but right on trend with the layered look. The brown cuff was funky and different, definitely not something I see often. I loved the way it flattered the Fashionista’s strappy wedges. It was just right. She looked effortless and cool, something I always try to mirror in my own outfits.
Next time you are in your room and find you have every drawer and closet door open and still have not found the outfit that makes you feel your best, try a romper. My go-to rompers typically have long sleeves, but try on a few different types to see what you feel most confident it!
One Simple Change: Bring this romper with you into the cooler months ahead by throwing a pair of opaque black tights on underneath. Finish the look off with a pair of chunky-heeled booties and even a cardigan if necessary.
