Visionary Gianni Versace once said, “Don’t be into trends. Don’t make fashion own you, but you decide what you are, what you want to express by the way you dress and the way you live.” The key to having your own personal style comes with accepting yourself and your quirks and using them to create something unique to you.
I spotted this Fashionista while she was walking to the boardwalk at Bethany Beach in Delaware during her vacation. She had a style that was funky and definitely all her own.
The Fashionista’s outfit consists of high-waisted denim shorts and a graphic T-shirt. She wears funky tube socks and Birkenstocks on her feet so she can transition from the boardwalk to the beach easily. She had metallic temporary tattoos covering her arms and eclectic and bright jewelry, as well as a Huf hat. Her backpack only added to the color in her accessories and her personality.
This Fashionista loved the camera and wanted to take as many pictures as she could before we parted ways. Her happiness was evident when we finally finished and I promised to email her any pictures I didn’t use. This Fashionista definitely walks to the beat of her own drum and I only hope that I can learn from that a bit in the future.
One Simple Change: For this Fashionista to transition her clothes from vacation wear to a concert at the beach the Fashionista could change her Bikenstocks to a pair of Dr. Martens and be ready to kick up a storm.
