A trip abroad brings with it all kinds of questions. What to pack, where to go and, of course, what to wear. Since Paris is a fashion capital of the world, there is a lot of pressure to blend in and look Parisian. Everyone has heard the old cliches that Parisian women wear only black outfits with heels, probably while holding a baguette and a cigarette. While this is true for some, I have found that Paris is a city of modern, creative dressers who spice up classic pieces with grungy streetwear. Combined, it makes for amazing street style.
This Fashionista’s outfit interested me because it sticks to some classic Parisian elements while also branching into modern comfort with a laid back attitude. For the classic elements, her Urban Outfitters knit dress hits below the knee and keeps to a neutral color scheme. She accessorizes with a simple gold watch, a necklace and sunglasses. These add up to a classic Parisian-chic look.
The modern elements make her outfit special. Her dress, which covers a good bit of skin, is made out of a clingy knit material and highlights her shoulders with a sporty neckline. Her oversized leather bag is perfect for running around the city and adds just a touch of color to her look. Lastly, I love that this Fashionista dared to take on the tourist taboo and wore white sneakers! These little Nikes are anything but frumpy. They add a fun, modern touch to the look, keeping with the overall clean look.
