BEAUTY BAR: It's All In The Hair

There is nothing more upsetting than a girl who does not take advantage of embracing her natural beauty. Not to downplay straight hair or winged eyeliner, but sometimes the best way to complete a look is to keep it simple from the neck up. This Fashionista used her voluptuous dark hair as her prominent accessory…and I must say it definitely caught my attention.

Paired with a Greek-inspired thin headband, this beauty queen made all the right moves by pulling her natural hair to the side. Too often in the summer we try to straighten our hair for hours, only ending up with frizzy messes. Especially with humid weather and scattered showers, the smart choice is to embrace your natural hair. Though most people refuse to believe that their hair could attain such an effortless curl as this Fashionista’s does, they fail to realize that in order to achieve any kind of wave or curl it is necessary to ditch the heat tools. Yes, this includes curling irons.

To go along with her natural hair, this Fashionista choice to wear a solid black fit-and-flare dress that shapes her body in the most elegant way. The above-the-knee length aspect of the dress gives this look a fun a flirty and summery touch. All around, this Fashionista looks incredibly put together, yet with avoiding the hassle of fussing with hot utensils, she saved herself over 15 minutes of valuable time. I applaud this lovely girl for her brilliant hair hack.

As for makeup, our Fashionista keeps it clean with light shadow and a simple liner and mascara combination. Her dark features such as her brows allow her to rock a jet black liner without it seeming too intense and instead acceptable for any occasion.

What’s on the BEAUTY BAR? To keep your hair looking full, consider using a leave-in product to be used on wet or damp hair. Trust me when I say that that stuff really works. Also, a draped chain headpiece would be a great alternative to the headband that our Fashionista is wearing if you prefer to wear your hair down. Finally, if you are convinced that you might need a little help upping your hair texture game, invest in a salt spray that can be found anywhere from Target to Sephora.
