Even though I’ve always been a blonde, I’ve found myself wanting to take risks in my monthly visits to the hair salon. Lately, I’ve been having a desire to take a huge hair risk and try out the dark brown trend. Dark roots with sun-kissed tips scream summer to me, and the touch of blonde on the ends helps make the perfect, and natural looking, balayage. Pair that look with a bold lip and I’ll be ready to go!

Balayage, or hair painting, is different from your usual ombré or highlights; stylists usually don’t use foils and the lightener is painted onto the hair’s ends, giving it a natural sun-kissed look. Lots of celebs, like Elizabeth Olsen and Jessica Biel, have recently been seen rockin’ this summertime look—definitely one I’ll be trying out this season!
