There are so many things that I love about watching runway shows or recaps of different runway shows. I admire the beautiful and very often outrageous designs, the amount of hours and work put into each show and the fact that quite honestly I could not see myself in a majority of the outfits. With that being said, I do enjoy creating my own take on various designs that inspire me from these shows.
This past Fashion Week dedicated to the spring and summer styles of 2015, brought many different trends and looks from “summer suedes” to “kimono” style. Many designers were also featuring color-blocked ensembles, including all-white looks which really caught my eye. Of course all-white has been done many times before so it wasn’t anything groundbreaking, but the common theme between the looks was the elegant and effortless appeal of the all-white. At the beach my style is a lot more casual, because most of my summer wardrobe consists of bathing suits so it can be difficult to achieve a more elegant look, but effortless I can do.
One of my very favorite looks from Fashion Week 2015 is an all-white design by Carolina Herrera. This look features a flowy pant and a thick strap V-neck top that is flowy as well. This design is also paired with a white strappy sandal to stick with the all-white theme. I loved this look immediately, because it looks so comfortable yet classic and I knew I could reciprocate it in my own way.
For my look, I paired a light, hooded V-neck sweater with a pair of loose white shorts. They both had the flow that I was trying to mimic from the Carolina Herrera look, and were a more casual and appropriate beach combination. I also added my own bit of flare by adding a pair of nude fringe peep toe wedges and a turquoise cross necklace.
Get My Look: 1. A plain white V-neck sweater, or loose white blouse. 2. A pair of flowy white shorts or pants. 3. A pair of fun shoes that can bring a little bit of flare to your outfit.
