STYLE GURU STYLE: Dynamic Duo

Experimenting with new trends is my favorite hobby after shopping. Finding new and interesting ways to place new trends into my wardrobe is one of my favorite ways to dress. Thinking outside the fashion box is always fun and proves foolproof for compliments. Remember: fashion risks are the best type of risks.

Dresses and jeans may seem to be an unlikely pairing; that is, until now. If you have any doubt about this trend fear not because it’s Olsen twin approved. In their designs of The Row’s spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection, long flowy dresses and pants showed to be a dynamic duo. Pairing a dress with pants is so wrong it’s right. Other style-conscious celebrities like Emma Watson are all supporters of the dress over pants look. The dress-pant hybrid became an instant classic ever since Emma Watson stepped onto the 2014 Golden Globes red carpet wearing her red dress over black pant ensemble courtesy of Christian Dior.

I am pro dress over pants and you should be too. Taking notes from The Row’s latest brought inspiration into my street style. For the main piece of my outfit, I chose a long flowy white dress. Under my dress I paired dark wash denim jeans to create my dress-pant hybrid. The jeans add a casual feel to the outfit while still maintaining a chic look. To finish my look, I added a pair of tan gladiator sandals and minimal gold jewelry.

This is a unique tend to welcome into your everyday wardrobe because it’s unexpected yet effortlessly chic. Depending on the pant you choose, you can dress up or dress down your dress-pant ensemble. To dress up, a black dress pant and heel would give this look a sophisticated elegance. To dress down, a distressed jean and sandal keep it cool and casual. It’s always good to try out new fashion trends while making them your own.
