I don’t know about you, but I’m getting tired of this rainy weather, too (Did you catch my T Swift rhyming?). Here in my hometown and the capital of the United States of America, Washington, DC, it is humid everyday and raining every other day. So, a raincoat and a water-resistant purse are must-haves for this kind of summer weather, especially if you are planning on spending any time in DC this summer.
I spotted this Fashionista in Georgetown sporting a handy-dandy (oh no, I’m rhyming again…) paisley patterned raincoat that she had bought that day at Jack Wills and a Dooney & Bourke crossbody bag. After I oohed and aaahed at the raincoat’s originality, I just had to go try it on for myself. Two words I would use to describe the raincoat are flattering and versatile. It is flattering because it cinches at the waist to show off a woman’s best assets and it’s versatile because it can be worn in a few different ways to achieve different looks. When I saw the paisley print on the Fashionista and on a mannequin in the store, I saw it as a preppy piece. However, when I looked to my left, I saw a sales associate at Jack Wills working the paisley print on a T-shirt dress paired with some Dr. Marten boots, horn-rimmed eye glasses and a stone necklace and saw that it could be worn as a grunge look as well! It’s amazing how a pattern can be worn with different kinds of accessories and the entire look of an outfit can change.
