Sheer clothing has been taken over the fashion world by storm, creating a huge divide between Fashionista’s: see-through or not? Luckily for us, there are ways that we can follow the high-fashion trend without baring too much. Christian Dior’s fall 2015 couture fashion show incorporated sheer elements that are seen in the arms and lower parts of dresses. The look comes together as “on-trend” but still stays somewhat reserved for a regular day look.
Today, any sheer look can be achieved with one simple purchase, a slip. This piece of clothing is key to toning down any see-through look that you are trying to achieve. The dress that I am wearing reminded me of the Dior look with its transparent sleeves and a slip underneath. The slip creates a reserved tone on a more edgy look. Luckily, this dress came with a slip but if it didn’t any of your own would work as well.
The embroidery on the dress creates a more feminine look, which I played up with my pink heels. I normally never go completely “girly” so I need to add some more “edgy pieces” to my outfit. Silver is always a good way to tone down an overall feminine look, because it is a more masculine looking metal. The silver toe plays down the pink Barbie heels and also takes this feminine look in a different direction. I also added silver wired sunglasses that complement the silver-toed pumps. It is always a fun idea to mix and match feminine and masculine elements to create a whole look.
