As Marilyn Monroe once said, “Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world.” Or in this case, give a man the right shoes. The shoe game is all the rage right now in the fashion world. Technically, I guess you could say it always has been all the rage, but the men in particular have been stepping it up when it comes to what they put on their feet.
I found this Fashionisto roaming through the streets of Madison, and after talking to him I learned that he has quite the collection of shoes. He told me he always likes to finish off his outfits with a cool pair of shoes that you don’t see every guy wearing as you walk down the street. As an example of his style, he is wearing a light blue Polo T-shirt and a pair of khaki shorts. The true statement of the ensemble, though, is found in the light blue Sperry Top-Siders sneakers. Now we all know that most guys on a college campus have a pair of Sperry Top-Siders or two in their wardrobes, but this Fashionisto mixes it up a bit with the unique color and style of his footwear. You can make any outfit that much better with the right pair of shoes.
How To: Making your shoe game stronger is a lot easier than it may seem, but it may take a little courage. Don’t be afraid to mix it up a bit with a color or style that you wouldn’t typically wear. Buy the Polo slip-on sneakers or the boots you left on the shelf because you didn’t think you could pull them off. Bring on the competition boys!
