ALL IN THE DETAILS: Gold Rush

Two of my favorite things start with the letter G. The first one is gold and the second one is garlic bread. Unfortunately, this blog post is not about food, so let’s talk about that first thing. If you asked me 10 years ago if I’d ever wear gold jewelry I would have told you I wouldn’t be caught dead in it. To me it seemed so antique looking, and frankly I thought it was only suitable for people 65 and older. Thankfully, 10-year-old me grew up and realized gold is glorious and I need more—like now.

Just because we’re focusing on the gold accents of this outfit, let’s not pass up this lovely opportunity to examine the Fashionista’s entire head to toe look. It starts with this sea foam green and blue paisley print crop top. The shape of the top resembles a bandana, the way it looks like a V. It has a soft cream-colored fringed hemline all the way around. She paired it with ivory colored cropped jeans with double zippers on each side (which are gold too of course) from Express. Classic beige wedges make this ensemble a bit dressier and complete her look.

Since the top she’s rocking is so bold, accessories don’t really have to do anything other than enhance the look. To accessorize this Fashionista chose a thin, gold, layered necklace with a pendant detail. She wears two gold rings, one of which she wears every day, and the other just a simple band to add a little something extra. Her last gold accessory is a Marc Jacobs wristwatch.

How To: To imitate this look, wear any type of neutral colored bottoms with a fun patterned or bold colored top. Finish it off with your favorite gold accessories. But always remember, less is more. No one likes that girl that over-accessorizes.
