Do you ever feel so hot that you’d rather be wearing bedsheets? Well, that’s how I’ve been feeling lately: too hot for clothes. I’m just going to throw it out there that I’m not the biggest shorts fan, so I typically like to stick to dresses and pants. I’ve been yearning for fall with this humidity, so when I stumbled across David Michael’s spring 2015 collection I was in awe. With the chiffon fabrics, the back cutouts and the blazers that took the outfit to automatic sophistication, I felt like I wanted to replicate each look in the collection. Captured in black and white, each look is slouchy and relaxed enough to give it that authentic vibe.
For my look, I wanted something that would let in a breeze, but still be practical. The high-waisted black trousers came right over my belly button. When paired with a cropped top, high-waisted anything can take a look from fun to a little more mature. I’ve been obsessed with the fringed cape lately; I throw it over everything. It’s light enough that it barely feels like it’s on, but it still gives me that coverage from the sun. I always try to accessorize with a pop of color. Since most of my outfits consist of neutrals, I chose a bright pink cross-body bag. I finished the look off with a selection of simple, thin gold rings. This relaxed look is perfect for your next day off from work.
