STYLE GURU STYLE: All-White With A Twist

If there is one trend this summer that I have been hesitant to try, it is the all-white look. There is something rather daring about wearing a completely white ensemble when your initials spell M.E.S.(S) and you live up to it. But despite my uncertainties, I have set out to find an all-white look I felt comfortable in.

To start off my all-white look, I decided to go with something…not white. I know you’re probably a bit confused, but I was inspired by this look in the Brock Collection’s 2016 resort collection. The entire collection has a heavy emphasis on ‘90s fashion, making my pale pink vintage blazer fit right in. I found this blazer at a local thrift store and I absolutely love it. Thrifting is an easy and inexpensive way to constantly update your wardrobe, plus the hunt for awesome pieces is always fun.

In order to stay with the all-white look I was originally going for and to add a more up-to-date feel, I added my favorite pair of denim; the American Eagle Outfitters Tom Girl jeans. I’ve had these jeans in the light wash denim for quite some time, so when I saw they made the same style in a white wash, I couldn’t swipe my card fast enough. I coupled these jeans with a simple white crop top. This crop top has been a staple in my wardrobe for a couple months now and I don’t see it going anywhere anytime soon. For shoes, I have on a pair of strappy white sandals that take comfort to the next level. As for accessories, I kept it super simple with a pair of all black sunglasses. I love the way the dark sunglasses contrast with the otherwise bright look.

Although my look isn’t completely white, I am totally in love with it. When you’re timid about trying a new trend like I was, try giving it your own personal twist and you’ll be surprised how it turns out!
