Every weekend in Detroit, people gather to the Eastern Market to shop for fresh goods and wondrous finds. Skip the shopping malls and grocery stores, and let’s go to the market! Shopping on the market streets, you come across many original goods that you won’t find anywhere else. While exploring Eastern Market, it is impossible to not come across amazing individuals with not only good stories but also original style.
I found this Fashionista shopping in Savvy Chic, one of the glorious boutiques in the Eastern Market area. She adored Savvy’s apparel so much that she walked out of the store wearing her purchase. She purchased a gray V-neck tank top and black pocketed culottes. To finish off her outfit, she wore a black pair of Dr. Martens and some elusive shades. Her knit tank top is perfect for the summer heat and her wide legged culottes give her look a stylish edge that sets her apart. I can’t get enough of the culotte trend because I love the dramatic wide legged silhouette. People will compliment a culotte as a skirt, but then it’s like “surprise” these are actually pants!
Lastly, I would like to give recognition to this Fashionista’s haircut. Having the guts to ask your stylist for the big chop is the first step, and styling it personally is another. We’ve all been there, wanting to ask for a daring style but ending up leaving with a simple trim. This Fashionista shares that getting the chop was daringly refreshing, and she doesn’t regret it. Kudos to the Fashionista for rocking out this hair style easily and being the example of hair dares.
One Simple Change: For your internship, you could switch the culottes for a pair of black cropped pants and add a black blazer. Lastly, adding a minimalistic necklace on top of the knit tank top would successfully complete the outfit.
