STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Magic 8s And Denim Dreams

Whether you’re getting ready for a huge meeting or just planning to read at your favorite local café, finding an outfit can be a daunting task. This task generally leaves closets as a jumbled and undecipherable map of our voyage to creating successful and complete outfits.

One simple trick that can deter the natural clothes disaster is having go-to articles of clothing that can easily be mixed and matched each season. It’s important to make sure that these pieces make you feel comfortable and relaxed. The last thing you want to be worried about is your skirt being too short or pants being too long for summer rainstorms.

Going to school in Georgia is a huge inspiration for our summer essentials, mainly because our only end game is to not be sweating in the sweltering sun. This Fashionista’s fresh take on a heatproof go-to ensemble is something that we all can incorporate into our wardrobe. What originally drew me to her outfit is how she updated classic shorts and a tank top with small accessories. Through these small additions she was able to express her style voice.

Her black cropped tank top features a very delicate lace pattern adding intricacy to what would otherwise be a plain black shirt. Her light wash denim shorts allude to an all-American look but her Aztec-inspired belt adds a variation of color and print. My favorite detail of this Fashionista’s outfit is the Magic 8 Ball key chain hanging out of her pocket because it’s unexpected and shows off her personality. She wraps up her look with her favorite pair of sunglasses and white high top Converse sneakers.

This outfit is great because it can be incorporated or found in an existing wardrobe. If you’re looking to start your own collection of go-to summer must-haves don’t forget to include denim shorts and black tank tops to your shopping list. And take a page from this Fashionista’s style handbook and accessorize (novel key chains included).
