Internships are a big part of college. An internship gets you experience and puts your foot in the door. Whether you already have one or plan on having one soon, dressing appropriately can really affect how your boss will view you. Yet, it can be difficult trying to figure out what to wear for your first day. Moving from the classroom to the office can be tricky, but it’s not impossible.
This Fashionista isn’t afraid to show off her style. She is wearing a fitted navy blue dress with a loose beige dress layered over it. The navy blue dress peaks out under the beige one to make it look as though it is one dress. She sticks to her neutrals and wears a long gold necklace with white rocks on it. To spice up the outfit she adds a pop of color on her feet with her pink sandals. This Fashionista is also carrying a trendy black and gold Michael Kors purse, great for carrying all her essential items.
Neutrals are good because they aren’t too distracting to your work. The last thing you want to be is a distraction. But that also doesn’t mean you have to throw your sense of fashion out the window. This Fashionista sticks to her neutrals but adds a small pop of color. It is subtle and works because it is not overpowering her outfit.
One Simple Change:Â Instead of layering two dresses, pair one dress with a knee length cardigan. This may not be ideal for the summer heat, but it will be perfect for this upcoming fall.
