I know I’m going to sound outdated, but I am still in love with the color burgundy, which was so popular back in 2012. It was the new black and appeared on numerous fashion runways such as Jason Wu, Tibi and rag & bone, etc. The deep, luscious wine color brings a sense of warmth to the chilling days in San Francisco. The deep red gives a sense of sophistication and elegance. Yup, that is how I describe the color—sophisticated and elegant. I would, however, not associate it with comfort and coziness.
This was why my attention was grabbed by this Fashionista when I saw one of my favorite colors popping out of the crowd. Coziness was the first word that came to my mind when I saw her style. She was heading out to catch a movie with her friends and she was wearing a burgundy shirtdress with small gold button detail. The dress hung loosely on her but cinched at the waist. This helps to narrow her waist which I think is one of the most important things to look out for when dressing up. It was a rather cold day in San Francisco and it’s important to keep yourself warm while trying to be stylish. The Fashionista paired the shirt dress with a long black cardigan and muted color floral scarf. Not only did the cardigan and scarf add warmth and comfort to her outfit, but they added casualness and youthful vibrancy to her outfit.
The Fashionista then finished the look with a pair of black ankle boots and leather Jimmy Choo bag. The overall look is sweet, cozy and stylish which is perfect for a weekend with friends in the city.
