I’ve never been a huge animal lover, but if I were, snakes certainly would not be my favorite reptile. Despite their sneaky personalities and slithery movement, I love the skin on the outside of these creatures. I own snake print blazers, skirts, sandals and even shirts. I guess I’m a little obsessed. Even with all of my snakeskin pieces, I would have never bought a snakeskin dress. The print becomes overwhelming, especially with my curves. However, look five of Carven’s spring ready-to-wear 2015 collection made me think that a full snakeskin look wouldn’t be too much. Remember I said to step outside of your fashion comfort zone this summer? That’s what I did!
When I saw the Carven snakeskin trench, I was inspired to sport my python bandeau dress. The yellow Carven bag was a great pop of color against the print, which made me add a neon clutch to my look. My clutch was simple enough for this dress and created the perfect summer look. It took me from a backyard barbecue to a girl’s night in the city.
My gladiator sandals have been my go-to sandals all summer, I absolutely need them in nude too. They were the perfect asset to this look, and I decided to tie them up my calves instead of around my ankles. These sandals have become my favorite summer staple. I know summer will be ending soon, but if you don’t already, get a pair of gladiators. My gladiators and clutch were enough for this outfit because the dress was a statement in itself.
If the dress is too much python for your preference, you can always flaunt a python print skirt with a top and still be on-trend. For fall, snakeskin will be my new black, and I encourage you to try it. Even if it’s just a statement python belt against a shirt dress, try the print!
Get My Look:Â 1. A statement dress. 2. A neon clutch. 3. Gladiator sandals.
