In the summer everyone wants to look like a mermaid, right? Sometimes people take it a little too seriously. I just got back from the beach with my family and I saw three grown women wearing mermaid tails in the ocean (I am thinking about buying some for next summer). Unfortunately mermaid tails are not easy to wear on a daily basis. The mermaid hair trend has been around for a few seasons but always makes a big come back in the summer time and is much easier to achieve than wearing a tail and seashell bra.
This Fashionista really stood out to me because I typically see the mermaid hair look on blondes rather than brunettes. It is definitely easier to accomplish for blondes because brunettes will have to have a more in depth bleaching process to make the color show up on their hair. It is such a cool and different look that is super easy to rock in the summer time. I also like the mermaid hair trend because it impacts your make-up and wardrobe, too. A bright, colorful lip color pairs well with colorful hair. This Fashionista took a classy approach and stayed with neutrals and leopard details in her outfit so that her hair could make the statement.
What’s on the BEAUTY BAR: I recommend leaving it up to the professionals by going to your hairdresser to achieve this look. Bleaching your own hair no matter what color hair you have is a bad idea. Make sure to invest in some good shampoo and conditioner to help your color last between washes, as well. If you want to play around with different colors that are not permanent, hair chalk is the way to go! This will show up on most hair colors and easily washes out.
