With fall quickly approaching, it’s time to start thinking about new looks for the new season. If you’re anything like me, you may want to start completely from scratch and go on a huge shopping spree. While that would be lots of fun, it isn’t exactly practical with a college student budget. So, instead of burning through my bank account, I thought it might be a better idea to find ways to create new looks using things I already own. One simple way to change up classic looks is to add new accessories in new ways. I’m usually one to reach for a good statement necklace, but sometimes, stacking bracelets to create some arm candy can also be a great option for spicing up a look.
This Fashionista isn’t afraid to stack on some bracelets, and they add a bit of pop to her otherwise simple outfit. Her solid purple top serves as a great base to add accessories to, and jewel tones are always a good choice for fall. She wears the top with some dark skinny jeans and a pair of tall brown boots that are also perfect for cooler weather. Then comes the fun part—the accessories. This Fashionista starts with a gold rhinestoned watch that has a large face. From there, she adds a few other gold bracelets with various charms and beads along with a thread bracelet to complete the look. The different textures in each of the bracelets give the ensemble some variety, but they all complement each other well. To finish her look, this Fashionista doesn’t forget to put on a few gold rings and some delicate necklaces that balance out the bracelets she’s chosen.
It can be easy to become bored with things you already have, but some layered jewelry can be an awesome choice for adding a twist to old looks and creating new looks altogether. Try finding new accessories and playing around with how you wear them. This will freshen up your style without you having to spend lots of money on tons of new clothing, and it can be just what you need to tie an outfit together.
How To: Create a simple outfit, then choose a watch that will serve as the start for your stack of bracelets. Add a few bracelets that vary in size, color and texture to create an eclectic assortment. For an edgy look, choose dark metals and a few contrasting silver pieces, and add a leather wrap bracelet. If you’re going for a more feminine look, you might opt for daintier pieces with a bit of color or sparkle. Whatever style you choose, just make sure the pieces have the same overall feel, making your look cohesive and complete.
