STYLE GURU STYLE: That's So ‘70s

Clothing inspired by the ’70s is making its way back into fashion, from flared jeans and pants to bell sleeve blouses. I personally love this look and can’t wait to see the upcoming collection in stores for the fall 2015 season. Since I am very intrigued by the ‘70s-inspired look, I pulled my inspiration from Etro’s fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection. What really caught my eye was the color scheme that was used including brown, green, red and orange. Also, I love how most of the pieces in his collection have an interesting pattern.

While keeping the ‘70s theme in mind, I decided to wear my medium wash, mid rise, bell flare sailor jeans from Express. These type of jeans are becoming must-have clothing items in my wardrobe, since they are very form-fitting for many body types and are extremely comfortable. The flared look makes a person’s legs look taller and thinner. The jeans are very versatile since you are able to wear them to class by dressing them down. You can wear a V-neck shirt or just a regular T-shirt to obtain the casual vibe. However, these jeans can also be dressed up by being paired with a crop top, blouse or even a denim on denim look.

I decided to pair the jeans with a horizontal stripe crop top from Forever 21. I thought the dark green in my shirt went nicely with the jean color and also reflected the same color scheme that Etro used in his collection. I paired this outfit with my black boots to give myself some height. Lastly, I added a statement necklace from Lucky. Obtaining a pair of flare jeans is a must for the fall season since there are many different washes to choose from such as light, medium or dark. Also, different details can be added to the jean to make each pair very unique.
