Although my inner Fashionista reaches for an all black assemble when it’s time to get dressed, she sometimes wants to go for a different type of monochromatic (for the most part) look. The all white trend has been taking fashion by storm and has been styled by icons like Kim Kardashian and her supermodel little sis, Kendall Jenner. When I began my attempt to style all white, I got caught up in the exact shades of the color. What I’ve come to realize is that any shade of white can match with any other shade of white. It’s as easy to style as our beloved all black looks. Zoë Jordan’s fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection reflects a block of ice in its color and design. Her clean lines, outfits of all white, all blue and all black inspired my fierce pre-fall type look.
I decided that as I started styling my summer to fall transition outfits again for this year, I’d keep more of a sleek vibe than years past. Last year I may have opted for an army green utility jacket with a black crop top and off-white crotchet shorts. This year I want to keep my pre-fall as I’ve kept my winter, spring and summer—street chic and sleek. Here, I’m wearing an olive green crop top to add a subtle amount of color to the look while still keeping it neutral. I paired the top with my (essential) white origami skort and draped on an off-white blazer. For shoes, I kept it simple and elongated my legs with my nude point-toed Christian Louboutin heels. These red bottoms can be worn with virtually any outfit and are such a great buy. I think with an all white outfit, some accessories that are more than minimalistic can make the look even more elegant. I chose to don a layered bracelet and a carved gold ring.
Wearing all white may be difficult for some Fashionista/os to do, especially since black is very near and dear to our hearts. Changing up your outfits is what fashion is all about. Try out a similar look, and hey, you may even be the one daring and courageous enough to wear white after Labor Day this year.
