As summer begins to come to a close, I’ve been reminiscing on all that these past few months have had to offer. Countless outdoor sweat sessions, summer sales, having nectarines and figs back in season and the achieving that golden tan are all among my favorite thing about this season. However, none of that compares to the people I met and places I saw while traveling through Europe this summer. I learned to see things from a new perspective by taking in all the muse that the food, the architecture, the way of life and most importantly, the fashion Europe had to offer. I came to understand that fashion represents a lot more than what meets the eye and how deep its global roots are.
Needless to say, I had my fair share of train, plane, car and ferry rides while abroad. As a true Style Guru, I am definitely an advocate for traveling in style. You never know who could be sitting next to you. Perhaps the Teen Vogue editor in chief or an attractive foreign boy…? Those purple Crocs are for sure not going to land you your next internship and definitely not a hot date.
Traveling in style does not mean you have to sacrifice comfort. This Fashionista I spotted boarding the ferry to Capri, Italy proves my point exactly. Her blouse and denim combo is a classic look that offers a lot of versatility. For example, her scarf. Although it was almost 90 degrees out, this linen, lightweight scarf is the perfect layering piece for a nap on the plane. This Fashionista’s totally chic Goyard bag is great size to store all her travel essentials. Comfortable and adorable? What more could jetlagged Fashionista ask for?
One Simple Change: Sleep deprivation and overeating remind of two things: traveling and finals. This Fashionista’s outfit is totally Style Guru approved for comfort and style making it perfect for finals week too. Ditch the sunnies for a pair of reading glasses and you’re ready to kill those exams. After all, the fashion gods would never let anyone in Prada sandals fail their final exam now would they?
